Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 18, 2026

1. Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name and profile picture. When you use the app, we store your scan history (the AI appraisals you generate) linked to your account. We also collect basic usage data such as the number of scans performed to enforce plan limits.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to provide and improve the ThriftBrain service, including: authenticating your identity, enforcing plan scan limits, syncing your scan history across devices (Pro and Dealer plans), processing payments through Stripe, and sending transactional emails related to your account. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. AI Image Processing

When you submit images for appraisal, those images are sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis. Images are processed in real time and are not stored by ThriftBrain beyond the session. The AI-generated appraisal text is stored as part of your scan history. Please do not submit images containing sensitive personal information.

4. Third-Party Services

ThriftBrain uses the following third-party services: • Supabase — authentication, database, and user data storage • Stripe — payment processing and subscription management • Google Gemini — AI image analysis • Vercel — application hosting Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing their use of data.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Scan history is retained indefinitely to support the cross-device sync feature on paid plans. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Cookies

ThriftBrain uses essential cookies and browser local storage to maintain your authentication session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure authentication via Supabase, and access controls on our database. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

ThriftBrain is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ThriftBrain after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
